An Exciting New Bible Study Resource From LifeWay!

There's a wealth of Bible study resources available online, each with its own unique way of helping us to read and study the Word. Here's another impressive resource to add to the list.

MyStudyBible is an online Bible resource from LifeWay Christian Resources offering a bunch of extensive study features. The layout of this study tool comprises a Reading Panel in the center a Study Panel on the right with the ability to resize their width or move content from the Reading Panel to the Study Panel and back again by clicking and dragging a Book Tab.

These tabs facilitate multiple ways to choose and navigate any book in the Bible:

  • Clicking on the Library menu at the top left of the screen, then choose category, then book cover and then the read-now link.
  • Clicking on a Read More link in the Cross Reference Tab of the Study Panel.
  • Clicking on a Read More link in the Cross Reference Pop-up tool.
  • After opening a Bible, clicking on a scripture reference in any book will move to that reference in the Bible.

The Study panel is a serious aid to Bible study offering library content related to any Bible passage that you read. Library content is categorized into Word study, Dictionary, Commentary and Footnotes.

  • Word study has Hebrew root words, Transliterations, Phonetic Pronunciations, Definitions and number of occurrences in KJV & HCSB versions.
  • Dictionary provides further read-more links to other resources like the Holman Illustrated Bible Dictionary etc.
  • Commentary is a work-in-progress at the moment.
  • Footnotes links to more related verses.

The Reading Toolbar offers a standard back button, a full-screen button, a navigation box to quickly navigate to a particular passage of the book and a control to customize font size of the text being read. Additional features include

  • Choice of reading the Bible as paragraphs or with each new verse starting at the left margin.
  • Display or hide links that provide original language information (Greek/Hebrew).
  • Mouse-over Greek/Hebrew links where available, to see word study content.
  • Click on the word links to align the Cross Reference Tab content with the verse that contains the clicked word.

There's also an options tab to set themes, font size, enabling Christ's words to show in red color font, links to Greek/Hebrew definitions, cross reference popups and Bible translations for scripture popups.

Currently, MyStudyBible has KJV and HCSB translations with more books and versions on the way. A note taking tool is also being developed to store and retrieve personal notes and bookmarks. I'll leave it to you to explore the other options available.
