The Best Song/Chord Management iPad/iPhone App for Worship Ministries

Normally, Pro Worship Technics does not feature anything that does not come with a usable free option. But I got to make an exception for this iPhone/iPad app - it simply rocks! The $4.99 price tag will seem quite reasonable once you walk-through its rich features. This one's a definite keeper if you are in worship ministry and happen to own an iPhone/iPad.

OnSong calls itself an ultra-portable, fully-featured chord sheet management app. It certainly lives up to this description offering loads of cool features that provide immense value to modern worship ministries:

  • Use iTunes file-sharing to import your set-list's song files in PDF, Word, Pages and most other popular formats.
  • Browse through your imported files manually or by auto-scroll. A USB foot pedal can also be used to flip through sets.
  • If all your worship team members have OnSong installed, you can share your sets with each other wirelessly via bluetooth.
  • OnSong facilitates displaying song lyrics if you connect your iPhone/iPad to a projector.
  • If your iPhone/iPad is connected to a VGA monitor, you can display chord sheets to your entire worship band.
  • Play songs directly from your iPod library or set a metronome to maintain a stead song tempo.
  • Search, preview and import songs from the Internet into your OnSong library.
  • Transpose chord sheets with a mere brush of your finger.
  • Export your songs and sets into iTunes file sharing using multiple formats like PDF, ChordPro, OpenSong, HTML, TXT, and OnSong's own proprietary format.
  • The app also comes with a 'chord picker', using which chords can be edited as you wish.
  • Add sticky notes to your chord sheet to remind the band on song arrangements specific to the way you planned and rehearsed the songs.
  • Supports multiple languages (currently English, Dutch, French, Swedish, German, Italian and Spanish)
