As a parent, my number 1 desire for my son is that he gives his life to Jesus some day. I take my responsibility to bring him up in the faith very very seriously and so keep looking out for resources that will help me teach Christ to him as he grows up. Here is where LifeChurch comes in offering high quality resources for online usage and lots of free downloads that can be used in various ministries. One such resource is an interactive site where kids can have fun learning about God. It’s called LifeKIDS.
LifeKIDS provides teachings, worship music, videos, home work activities and even answers some of the most commonly asked questions about a child's relationship with Jesus. This is a God-send for parents to make learning about God fun and easy for their kids.
The homepage features 5 options: KONNECT, 2 year olds, 3 year olds, 5th & 6th grade and Parents’ resources.
KONNECT facilitates a small group of kids to explore stories of the Bible using funny videos, hands-on projects, activity games and even their own snack creations.
Apart from going through these activities together, it also encourages kids to to talk to each other about what God’s Word means in their own lives. Parents also get to keep a tab on what’s happening throughout the week.
The 2 year olds section features a module called “Under the Sea”, which uses fun and exciting characters to teach kids about sharing, obedience, creation, Jesus & His work for us, God’s power and love in language that’s appropriate for 2 and 3 year olds – all using multimedia content.
Right now, the modules available are God Made Everything, God Made Me for a Reason, I Can Obey God, God Made My Family, Jesus Can Do Anything, I Love to Share, I Can Obey, God Is Always with Me, Jesus Is a Gift from God, Jesus Made Me Right with God.
The 3 year olds section features a module titled “In The Jungle.” Here, kids learn mainly about the love of God by exploring powerful Biblical stories. The content is presented as an adventure and connects with the target age group excellantly.
The 5th & 6th grade section has two modules: “Helpline” that can be done over 4 weeks driving home the important lesson that only God has the best answers to life’s questions. The second module is called “The Pour” that aims to motivate kids to share God’s love with others through serving and giving.
Parent’s Resources provides game ideas to play with kids at home, Christian music and tools for spiritual development.
The “Tools For Spiritual Development” is geared towards enhancing parenting skills and training parents on how to give Jesus to children. Audi/Video and e-books in PDF are the types of resources available in this section.
