The Joint - Real Reviews of Christian Music

Tired of stereotypical reviews, which describe every record as 'good' or 'great' because the reviewers don't want to sound "too critical" of Christian music? Wish to access candid reviews? The Joint, a Christian music review blog could give you what you need.

According to their site, "The Joint is a revolutionary new way of checking out CD reviews. Each CD is reviewed by 3-4 people and also evaluated for it’s potential use in church. What you get is a “full” view of what you can expect from the CD before you buy it."

A typical review is divided into 4 sections -  A synopsis, A Bottom Line, Must Have Songs, Songs for Church and an overall rating out of 5 stars. All 3 or 4 reviewers (Joel Klampert, Conner Byrd, Mike Mahoney, Alastair Vance) contribute to all the four sections, so the reader gets a good mix of diverse opinions.

Where else would you find comments like "it doesn’t strike a chord with me" or "While there are some good songs on the record, it is all over the place thematically" or "as an album, it doesn’t really work for me" or "overall this comes off as one of the bands in the 90’s that didn’t make it" or "there’s nothing here for church"

There you have it - bold and real reviews that should give a clear idea of what to expect from a worship CD.

What other sites do you visit to get reviews of Christian music? Let me know in the comments.
